This Week in OC: February 14-20, 2014

This Week in OC: February 14-20, 2014

Valentine’s Day is upon us, and, regardless of the celebration, there is no better place to spend a holiday weekend than in Ocean City, Md- especially because we are completely SNOW FREE!  This weekend, art, boats, and live music and performances take center stage in the Ocean City area.  If you happen to find some downtime between excitement, don’t forget to visit www.coolberlin.org to vote for Berlin as America’s Coolest Small Town. Remember to vote every 24 hours, from every device you own with an internet connection, and help Berlin hold it’s lead and take home the title.

Here are the highlights from around town:

– February 14 is the second Friday of the month, so not only is it Valentine’s Day, but it is also the 2nd Friday Art Stroll in Maryland’s (and hopefully soon to be America’s) Coolest Small Town.  While love is in the air, local artists and vendors will take to the streets of historic Downtown Berlin for a night dedicated to art, music, food, and friends.

– This weekend marks the return of the region’s largest indoor boat expo as the 31st annual Seaside Boat Show goes down February 14-16.  This Ocean City winter tradition brings over 350 boats and 150 vendors, selling everything from the newest high end technology to small nautically themed trinkets, to the Convention Center for a 3 day extravaganza geared towards casual boaters and hobbyists. Show runs from 11am-7pm Friday, 10am-7pm Saturday, and 10am-5pm Sunday.  Admission costs $10 daily or $15 for a weekend pass.

– If you’re looking for a laugh this weekend, you’re in luck.  The Brown Box Theatre Company kicks off its new season this weekend with 3 performances (February 14-17) of “Two Wrongs.”  This psychoanalytic contemporary comedy was written by playwright and actor Scott Caan.  You’ve seen Caan on the silver screen and television, most recently as the star of Hawaii Five-O, but now see his imagination come to life on stage through the tale of Shelly and Terry, two neurotics who’s lives become entangled after sharing the same unethical psychiatrist. You do not want to miss the sharp dialogue and real life comedic wit that have critics raving.  Showtime is 7:30 nightly with doors opening at 6:30.  Call 410-924-9433 or visit www.brownboxtheatre.org for more details or ticket information.
