Ocean City’s beach at 94th Street to 115th Street hosts a parade that hopes to break the Guinness Book Record for the longest bikini parade. Help put Ocean City in this history book by registering here: http://bikini.eventbrite.com/. The kickoff party for this record-breaking attempt is at BJ’s on the Water from 1 to 5 p.m. on August 24. The next day is the actual bikini parade, which begins at Princess Royale at 1 p.m. and ends at Carousel Hotel in the afternoon. More celebrating ensues after the parade at Blue Ox Bar & Grill at 7 p.m.

Could anything be more entertaining than dressing like a hippie for one night while dancing with friends? Fireworks and light shows on the beach are the perfect way to celebrate the last days of summer. The beach at North Division Street hosts a free fireworks show this Tuesday. The show begins at 10 p.m. On Sunday, enjoy a light show that begins at 9:30 p.m. This light show is also free.

Randy Lee Ashcraft performs this week with The Saltwater Cowboys at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Bring your own seating to this free fun. The concert takes place at the beach at North Division Street.

Want another free musical event? Try out the “Sunset Party Nights,” a musical concert held at Sunset Park from 7 to 9 p.m. This week, Rob Fahey & The Pieces rock the crowd. Admission to the park is free. Drinks are on-site for purchase. Guests should bring their own seating.

Many would posit that saving money is entertaining, or at the very least, quite fun. Through August 30, tons of hotels in Ocean City participate in Hotel Week, which gives hotel-goers the chance to save money on accommodations. Free movies still take place this week on Ocean City’s beach. At the beach at Princess Royale, families can enjoy The Adventures of Tin Tin on Thursday. At the beach at Carousel Hotel, Hugo plays on Wednesday. Both movies begin at 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating.

This week marks the last to take the kids to the free educational programs at the Life-Saving Station Museum. Programs are only open Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m. Learn with the kids about fish, oceans, and more. Call 410-289-4991 to find out more.

This week also sees the last of “Sundaes in the Park.” Held at Northside Park, this event treats families to ice cream sundaes and entertainment for adults and kids. This Sunday, parents can enjoy Mary Lou & The Untouchables while kids learn about “Scales & Tales.” Bring the family around 7 p.m. for this sugary fun.
