All we wanted was a nice place to take our daughter and have a good time, we had a horrible stay it was not clean at all, infact we had mold in our shower curtain. My daughter got out of the bathtub and 15 mins later her feet were black on the bottoms from the motles carpet! The only positive thing we had with our stay wa sthe well kept pool! but even that want make us return to the motle again!!

Aside from the workers were nice and very responsive, it is apparent they will rent to irresponsible people. The room was dirty upon our entrance. The toilet filled so slowly that if you needed to flush within 25 min. of each other you had to fill the tank using the trash can. There was trash thrown behind the night stand. The room smelled awful and a drunk person knocked on our door at 3a.m. Was very disappointed--you apparently get what you pay for in this instance. Also, a 3 night minimum is ridiculous for couples that can only get away for a weekend!!

The rooms at The Islander were nothing special. However, the location of the motel is nice. Our room overlooked an inlet on the bay. We had a very short walk to the boardwalk and the beach. (20th street) A feature that I liked was that the maid doesn't clean unless you ask her to. You leave a sign on the door handle asking for service. This is great if you are one of those people who would rather tidy up yourself and have a little more privacy. The pool was great compared to others I saw in Ocean City. It was clean, and fairly large. Many pools that I saw were very small. If you are staying here make sure you bring your own phone and/or alarm clock. It appeared that rooms had different furniture. We didn't have a dresser, but my inlaws did. Overall it was good hotel for the price we paid.

The hotel is very outdated. Upon checkin we told the front desk that the TV did not work. They never came and replaced it. There was no alarm clock in the room either. The room was very clean. I would not return to this hotel.

Islander motel: "Pictures Do Not Say It All"

I was very impressed by the picures available on the internet. The outside view was pretty much a true picture. However, the inside view, which appeared to be very clean and comfortable, was not a true picture. Upon my arrival, at around 11:00 p.m., everything was handled smoothly (staff was polite, keys to room & parking permit were given, direction to room and where to park were given), and we were told that if we needed anything to let them know. Upon entering the room, it was very stuffy and hot and it had a kind of moist feeling to it, like sweaty. It smelled somewhat like paint. One wall was cement and painted green. There was an air conditioning unit that was not turned on and a refrigerator that was not plugged in. There was a television, but no remote control. There were sufficient towels but one of the two washcloths was dingy grey. There was no telephone so I had to walk back over to the office to get assistance. The toilet did not flush properly(after one flush, you had to wait a considerable amount of time in order for it to flush again. The carpet, while it didn't appear to be filthy, left my feet black at the bottom with dirt. There were two chairs outside of the unit for the guest to enjoy the outside breeze. My room was above the pool area so I could enjoy watching the kids play in the pool. The next morning when I went to the office to tell of my concerns, the staff seemed rude to me (it could have just been her mannerism and the fact that she spoke broken english very quickly) stating that someone will be around to the rooms. When I saw the staff member that checked me in, he got me taken care of quickly. The ice machine located at the end of the street was a great amenity, while it lasted. Coffee was available in the office each morning. The Pool was the best of the stay. It was nice and clean and just the right temperature. There was sufficient pool tables and chairs. There were no towels available for the pool (You have to bring your own towel, not from the room). With so many other choices of hotels/motels in OC, I would not stay here again.

The motel was ok, but the room and bathroom weren't cleaned, even after a complain the cleaners just made the beds and changed the towels. The fact that there was sand in the bathroom the whole time it's what most disappointed me.

our tv didnt work, poor room cleaning service. They never gave us enough washcloths and towels. The rifergerater did not work for 2 days! There was sand on our floor that they never swept up the whole time we were there.
