CLARIONŽ RESORT Fontainebleau Hotel : "August Stay"
Reason for Staying: Romantic/couples vacation
Date Staying: Aug 24 2009 to Aug 28 2009
We stayed on the fifth floor due to having pets. As stated in othe rreviews, the room was in need of a remodel; wall paper peeling off, carpet seems coming up. sliding door to the miniscule balcony corroded and difficult to slide. Sliding door rattled in the wind and was diificult to lcok to keep from rattling. Pet fee not found on-line when reserving room. Didn't know the fee until check-in ($35/nite for first pet and $15/nite for the second)

The suite was located by the indoor pool and the noise and smell of cholorine made the room less than desirable.

CLARIONŽ RESORT Fontainebleau Hotel : "Great Mini Vacation"
Reason for Staying: Family Vacation
Date Staying: Jul 31 2009 to Aug 03 2009
We had a 12 hour drive and arrived at 5:30am. The hotel clerk was very friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions. Before booking this hotel I checked around for many others and the reviews I read from other hotels were not to my satisfaction. Mind you a little expensive but worth it. I think they charge too much money for the chairs and umbrellas. That should be included as part of the package. I am glad for trip advisory cause when I looked around when we were there the hotels were not quite as they described. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I would actually recomend this hotel to anyone travelling to Ocean City. People were nice and friendly. The food was great. I saw the pools but why a pool when you have the ocean. In Ontario there is no ocean. We travel at least 3 times a year and I say this was one good trip for all of us.

CLARIONŽ RESORT Fontainebleau Hotel : "Great Value"
Reason for Staying: Romantic/couples vacation
Date Staying: Jun 26 2009 to Jun 27 2009
I have stayed at several hotels in Ocean City for around the same price point, and this was like night and day. The check-in was quick and painless, and they set us up with a charge card. This could be used to rent chairs and umbrellas, get drinks on the beach, eat at the hotel restaurant, etc. There was also plenty of parking all the time, and they have an overflow lot nearby as well. The room was larger than I expected and was spotless. One problem I have experienced in other hotels in Ocean City is lack of water pressure in the shower. The Clarion didn't have this problem at all, and we were on the 6th floor. All the rooms have a side view of the beach instead of only half the rooms, which was very nice. The balconies were pretty small though. The breakfast was awesome. They have lots of choices in their menu, and also have a nice buffet. The first morning I got eggs Benedict, which were among the best I've had. The next morning we got the buffet, which had a full omelet station, fresh-made waffles, and tons of other selections. The beach in front of the hotel is private, and wasn't crowded despite the time of year. The bar close to the beach was very convenient, but they still had waitresses come out to our seats near the water to bring us drinks. Service was a little slow, but I think they were understaffed that day. I was very pleased with our stay, and I would definitely recommend the Clarion to others.

CLARIONŽ RESORT Fontainebleau Hotel : "OK for a short stay"
Reason for Staying: Family Vacation
Date Staying: Jun 29 2009 to Jul 01 2009
Our room needed some work. Bathroom fan made a lot of noise. Bathroom faucet leaked. Paint job was poorly done IE not painted around doorknobs etc. For a three day trip it was OK. The rooms were clean. Customer service was good. The desk people and others were friendly. On the beach they had people ask if you wanted anything from the bar or food but did not pressure you. I can't say much about the pool as we did not use it although many others seemed to enjoy it when we passed by. As far as value goes, I guess it was OK because it is on the beach and everything in OC costs more than what it should. One sticking point was that there was no A/C outside of the room. The halls and elevators were very stuffy.

CLARIONŽ RESORT Fontainebleau Hotel : "Clarion pricing with Motel 6 quality"
Reason for Staying: Romantic/couples vacation
Date Staying: May 29 2009 to May 30 2009
Very dis-appointing. First of all, this was one of the most expensive hotels listed on this web-site. Naturally, you would expect very amenities with clean rooms and a nice view to the ocean. Well, we got just the opposite. The hotel is perpendicular to the beach, you can get a partial view of the water from the triangular shaped terrace not big enough to put a chair outside. The faucet in our room was not even tightened to the couter-top, everytime we turned on the water, the whole faucet moved from side to side. The TP dispencer was rusted and fell out of the wall when I reached to un-roll the paper. Lobby was no better than lobby in my office with the exception of some brass railing and granite counter-tops. As far as location on the strip, the hotel is across the street from some parking lots. The board-walk was 10 minutes away by car. For almost 300 a night during off-season, it was NOT worth it. I will surely NOT stay there again. From the street, Holiday Inn looked much more appealing with a building that actually has rooms facing the beach.
