Ocean City MD beaches – photo blog

The beautiful beach in Ocean City, Md stretches along the shores of Ocean City for almost 10 miles, and is free for all to enjoy. Whether its building sandcastles, boogie boarding, jumping the waves or just taking a stroll, or sitting back with your eyes closed, enjoying the warmth of the sun, chatting quietly with friends and family, Ocean City’s beach has something for everyone. From the Inlet to 27th Street, the Boardwalk stretches along the length of the beach, and protective sand dunes line the beach further north. There are free family activities all summer long on our beach, day and night, including concerts, movies, and the Beach Olympics. Our beach is open to the public from 6am to 10pm, and Ocean City Beach Patrol is on duty between 10am and 5:30pm during the summer months, protecting swimmers from the sometimes strong waves and currents. The waves on our beach can be big at times, making it ideal for surfers and boogie boarders, and two beaches are reserved every day for surfers, their locations rotating daily. Effective May 1, 2015, our beach now has designated smoking areas to help keep it clean, and trash cans are located at regular intervals to ensure visitors leave only their footsteps. There is access for the physically challenged at many locations throughout the town, with wheel chairs available on a first-come, first-serve basis from each Patrol. Pets are allowed on the beach, but only from October 1 to April 30. Whatever your reason for visiting the beach in Ocean City, and whatever time of year it is, it is a charming, restful place to find yourself, where you can relax, rejuvenate, have fun and be entertained. Be it the quiet of the winter, with just you and your dog wrapped up against the bitter wind, or the middle of the summer, with the beach full of bright colored umbrellas, children laughing and the sun beating down on your sun screened skin, our Ocean City Beach is a place to not to be missed.
