An Ocean City icon loses its patriarch and the tourism community loses a friend

Granville Trimper died Sunday at the Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland. He was the patriarch of Trimper’s Amusement Park, the home to the famous antique carousel on the Boardwalk in Ocean City. There is not a school child within 50 miles of Ocean City nor is there anybody who has ever come to Ocean City as a child or with a child who has not delighted in the rides and amusements at Trimper’s, The overwhelming support for Trimper’s in the state legislature last year is a tribute to Granville Trimper and the positive impact and happy memories he and his historic Ocean City landmark have provided the millions of Ocean City visitors over the years.
