Black Friday at the Beach
Don’t think you need to stay on the Western Shore to get great deals on Black Friday. Once you’ve enjoyed the fabulous meals prepared for you by some of the best chefs around, walked on the beach, relaxed with some of the spa treatments available in Ocean City, why don’t you start Friday early, REALLY early?
WalMart seems to have some of the best deals on all kinds of merchandise on Black Friday. I know I always look for a WalMart wherever I’ve spent Thanksgiving. If you are staying on the beach, you won’t have to look far. On Route 50 in Berlin is a WalMart next to a Home Depot. Both have great deals on November 29th.
The Ocean City Factory Outlet Mall in the White Marlin Shopping Center is across the street from Starbuck’s and hosts a Panera Bread when you get tired of shopping, or just tired! There are many stores from which to choose: the Gap; Tommy Hilfiger; Quick Silver; Michael’s; Bed, Bath & Beyond; Marshall’s; and Staples only get you started. Select Ocean City Factory Outlets stores open at 6am on Black Friday- PacSun, Harry and David, Nautica,Reebok, with Children’s Place opening at 5am and rue21 at 7am. All stores open by 8am! Rehoboth Beach is only 45 minutes from Ocean City and provides EVERY store you can imagine. The shopping is great, the drive is beautiful, and the deals will be HOT!
The Mall in Salisbury, Maryland is the largest indoor shopping mall on the Eastern Shore and will be open early to offer you great deals this Black Friday. Boscov’s and JC Penney always have super specials, but Sears may be the most interesting. They have a Black Friday NOW special going, now. You can buy in the store or online at certain times leading up to Black Friday. You can get a 42″ flat screen TV for under $500 and you can do it without succombing to the rush of Black Friday. So come on down to Ocean City, buy from Sears online, enjoy WalMart and the Outlet Malls, then go to Starbucks for a coffee and Panera for a great breakfast treat before you head back to your hotel for a much needed nap.
When you get up well-rested and ready to enjoy more that Ocean City has to offer, try La Hacienda’s Neptune burrito and the LaHa ‘Rita. Remember, Galaxy66 is featuring the Philly George Band Friday evening.
If you are more interested in getting in the Christmas spirit, try the Holiday Arts night in downtown historic Berlin. It’s only 15 minutes from Ocean City, but it seems worlds away. There is a tree lighting at 5:30 pm with caroling by the Delmarva Chorus. Then, from 6 – 9 pm, you can browse the shops throughout town where there will be featured artists and free food and drink. Moonstruck, a local music group will be wandering throughout town providing music for you to enjoy while you shop.
