The opening ceremony of the Winterfest of Lights has been moved indoors to the community room of Northside park — the same park that hosts the Winterfest itself on 125th Street.

The event begins at 5:30 and will conclude with the flipping of the switch formally starting the 1,000,000 light festival which runs through January.

Rides are still free today.
