Off season hotel specials 2011-2012
With the changing of the seasons comes the changing of the specials. Well, not all the specials are changing but some of them are being updated. This list isn’t comprehensive, but our hotel listings section is.
All hotels in Ocean City offer something different to its guests: be it location, amenities or services. Pick the one best suited to your needs and make a reservation.
There’s a reason this time of year is among the favorites of the locals. Besides a more private setting and all the great deals scattered throughout the resort, the town takes on a different character – relaxed and invited. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway or just an overnight romp. Let these deals be the deciding factor in a choice to take a visit to the other side of Ocean City MD.
Alphabetically, we begin with the Comfort Inn Gold Coast, and they have a special beginning tomorrow that runs to the end of the year. The location offers some unique advantages and only augments their great room specials in Ocean City. Because the holiday season is ramping up, that means shopping. For $110 each per night for two, set your base camp near one of the largest shopping centers in Ocean City. The package also includes a three day, two night stay with meal vouchers. You also get two passes each to the OC JAMBOREE (depending on availability) and the Winterfest of Lights train ride plus two cups of hot chocolate while you’re there. On the shopping side, included are two VIP shoppers discount cards at the Ocean City Factory Outlets, and your room key will net you some special deals at the Factory Shoe Outlet.
In addition, they are also running a New Year’s package where if you stay on New Year’s Eve, the room on New Year’s Day is discounted to $20.12 plus tax – the catch is the rooms must be booked at least two weeks in advance – no walk-ins here.
In West Ocean City, the Comfort Suites has a number of dates where rooms are only $59.99 plus tax per night for a three-night stay. From November 18 until December 18 and again from December 23 until December 29 these deals are in effect.
The Hilton’s “Weekdays gone wild” package where rooms from Sunday through Thursday until February 9 are just $129 per night. For that price you get an Oceanfront Jacuzzi suite and a three-course gourmet dinner at the 32 Palm Restaurant. Or there’s a Spa Weekend package based on double occupancy at $268 per person. For that you get two overnight accommodations in an Oceanfront Suite, two breakfast vouchers, a spa treatment and a drink voucher. This deal is good until December 18.
The Holiday Inn and Suites is also offering a Spa Weekend Package, but at two price points depending on the date. The prices are based on double occupancy and until November 20 are $212 per person, but if you wait until December 2 it starts up again until the end of February at $201 per person. Included are two nights in a Southern view suite, two breakfast vouchers, a spa treatment and a drink coupon.
At the Holiday Inn on 67th Street you can get three days and two nights during the week for two at $94 each. You get a Southern Oceanview efficiency, but these rates are subject to availability, of course, and weekends are available too but the price gets a bump. This is perfect if you’re just looking for a centrally-located base of operations and are just using the room primarily for sleeping.
The Holiday Inn Express and Suites on 126th Street is running a similar deal to the lead-off deal at the Comfort Inn above. Beginning on December 2 for about $59 per person you get a three-night and two-day stay, breakfast, dinner and passes to the OC Jamboree (again, depending on availability) and the Winterfest of Lights. Also included are two VIP discount cards to the Factory Outlets as well as the same deal at the Factory Shoe Outlet.
The Quality Inn on 54th Street has a special Tropical Package from Sundays through Thursdays until February 9. There are only a limited number of rooms available for this and the next sentence will explain why. Stay two nights and the third is free.
The Quality Inn down on the Boardwalk is offering a couple of deals. The Winter Getaway Package runs from November 17 until December 29. You get two-night accommodations in an Oceanfront room, two breakfasts and four Winterfest tickets for $199 each. Or, if your trip includes a Sunday — or could — it might be better to spend three consecutive nights and get one-half off on Sundays. This one is good until New Year’s Eve but excludes holidays.
The Sea Bay Hotel has an off-season weekend package for $149 that includes two nights and a pack of other coupons and gift cards. You get a $25 gift card at Seacrets, a $20 voucher for the Sea Bay Café, two passes to Old Pro Mini Golf (indoor or outdoor) and two bike rentals at Dandy Don’s. The Winterfest of Lights package is a one-night affair – but can be claimed on either weekday or weekend. You get one night, two passes to the Winterfest of Lights and two breakfast vouchers to the Sea Bay Café. The cost is $65 for a weekday and just $10 more on the weekend.
The Sea Bay also has a New Year’s Eve special for $219 per person which includes: a two-night stay, a $25 vouchers to the Sea Bay Café, Fager’s Island and Seacrets. There’s also a delayed checkout on Sunday at 5 p.m.
So there are plenty of good options to nudge a weekend getaway along. There could be any excuse really – a birthday, and anniversary or simply because it’s what’s needed at the time. Or no excuse at all. Ultimately it’s your decision – we just provide the opportunity. We’re here to help after all, and your only responsibility is to have a good time while you’re here.
