green at heart? Then you can’t miss the the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Ocean City, Md. This is an Ocean City tradition sponsored by the Delmarva Irish-American Club. Local favorite, Buck Mann ,is the chairman for the event that is the second largest celebration of this holiday in the state. The annual parade and festival includes marching bands, floats, and Irish dancing. Some of your Ocean City area businesses that usually sponsor floats include the Greene Turtle, Smitty McGee’s, Seacrets, BJ’s on the Water, Pepper’s Tavern, K-Coast Surf Shop, Old Pro Golf, the OC Parrothead Club, the Ravens Roost, the OC Parrothead Club, Maryland Coastal Bays, and the newcomer, Burley Oak Brewery in Berlin. The St Patrick’s Day Parade starts at noon on Saturday, moving south from 61st street to 45th street and Coastal Highway. The parade travels down the South-bound side, so expect significant delays during the event. It’s better to come into town early, find a place the park and leave your car for the day. Bus transportation is available and you can always walk from your favorite pub to the ocean and back!
