(Feb. 15, 2013) OCEAN PINES — John Joseph Donahoe, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at his home in Catered Living in Ocean Pines. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Thomas K. Donahoe and Marie Wingerson Donahoe. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kane Donahoe of Ocean Pines; sons, John Howard, Peter Joseph and Christopher Kernan, and Joseph Michael Donahoe; and daughters, Susan Gaudette and Kelly Craddock. He was adored grandfather to 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Also surviving is a sister, Helen Dreven and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Donahoe and by his sisters, B. Mae Quinn, Mary Lou Cannon, Catherine Donahoe, Dorothy Stein and Clara Marie Moore.
Mr. Donahoe was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He had worked for many years in sales for 3M Co., Institute for Scientific Information, and also was owner/operator of Donahoe and Associates, from which he retired in 2002. He was a United States Coast Guard veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines.
Cremation followed his death. A private family memorial service will be held at a future date. Inurnment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Upside of Downs, 4807 Rockside Road, Suite 200, Independence, Ohio 44131.
