Almost one year after “Superstorm Sandy” devastated the east coast, officials in Maryland will come together celebrate the Beach Replenishment and Hurricane Protection Program, which has saved an estimated 717 million dollars in damages over the past 25 years
The anniversary celebration of the Beach Replenishment Program and the dedication of the newly constructed Boardwalk. Governor Martin O’Malley and Senator Ben Cardin will join Worcester County Commissioner Bud Church and Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan to discuss the history of the project and the $717 million dollars in estimated damages that have been avoided since the program’s inception.
