Mayor

Ocean City's Mayor is Richard (Rick) Meehan. He was member of the Ocean City Council for 14 years before being elected Mayor in June of 2006. He grew up in Baltimore where he also attended college at the University of Baltimore graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration. He moved to Ocean City in 1971 and now in addition to Mayor, he is an active realtor with Coldwell Banker in Ocean City. As Mayor he serves on the Pension Committee, the Police Commission and the Tourism Commission and he is also a member of the Governors Economic Development Committee, Downtown Association, Chamber of Commerce, and is the President of the Delmarva Irish American Club and the Co- Chairman of the Ocean City St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Trash Pick-Up & Recycling
The current Trash Pick Up Schedule is as follows:

Summer Schedule begins May 11, 2009
Multi Family Residences from Inlet to Delaware Line and High Rise Condos from 94th to 146th Street will have trash collection on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Winter Schedule begins September 22, 2008
Multi Family Residences from the Inlet to 74th Street will have trash pick up on Tuesday and Friday, 75th Street to 146th Street trash pick up will be on Monday and Thursday.

The Ocean City Fire / EMS Department provides services to the residents and visitors of Ocean City. Each year the Ocean City Fire / EMS Department responds for approximately 5000 calls for service.

The Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department operates six stations throughout the town. Last year, men and women volunteers donated thousands of hours training and responding to fire alarms. Last year the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department responded to over 1500 fire alarms.
