Tide Tables

Tides — High tides occur approximately every 12 hours as do low tides.  Surfing is best on the low tide and fishing on a changing tide.  Swimming is wonderful on the high tide and riding the tides at inlet areas where the water is moving quickly can be very exciting — and potentially dangerous.  Virtually eveything we do in and around the ocean depends on the tides and the tides depend on the moon cycles.  To find the tide table for your area, we recommend that you go to the State of Maryland’s tide finder chart.  If you are interested in the tides along Ocean City, make sure you highlight the region as Maryland Ocean Side.  After that, the next box gives you several options:  Ocean City Inlet, Ocean City Fishing Pier, North Beach Coast Guard Station, and the Isle of Wight Bay,  Assateague Island (Tom’s Cove), Harbor of Refuge, Chincoteague Channel South end, Bogues Bay (Chincoteague Inlet), Wishart Point (Bogues Bay), Chincoteague Island: USCG Station, Lewis Creek,  Oyster Bay, or Blakes Cove; Franklin City, George Island Landing, Public Landing, and Assacorkin Island.   Highlight the area you like in this second box and find your tide charts.    Go here to find your tide tables:  http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/tides/index.asp

We have copied the tide chart for October at the Ocean City Inlet below.
