    Handicap Parking

Is there a charge for handicap parking at the meters or lots?

If you have a handicapped hangtag or license plate, there is NO charge to park at any municipal parking space. This does not apply to the Inlet lot, it has it's own rules & I forget just what they are. But any space along the street or in a municipal lot is free, it doesn't have to be a designated handicapped space. Which I think is very nice of the city. The hangtag or license plate can be from any state, also. Every year we go to OCMD I call the police dept. non-emergency number to check on this, I figure sooner or later they're going to change it. But, so far they never have.

There is no parking at the inlet during Sunfest weekend, and other event weekends like Cruise In.

Any parking space with a meter is free with valid handicap tags. At the Inlet lot (when it's not closed for bike week, Sunfest or other big events), those with handicap tags have a 90 minute grace period where they can park for free. After 90 minutes, it's full price.

It's actually only 60 minutes, and if you park even one minute longer, you pay for the whole time.

    PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PATRONS:
In order to accommodate our physically challenged patrons, a 60-minute grace period is in place. This allows those person(s) to view the ocean or pick-up an item from the boardwalk. In addition, there are handicap parking spaces located near the beach as well as the boardwalk just for these purposes. However, if the length of time spent in the parking lot is 61-minutes or more, the person will have to pay for the entire time spent in the parking lot, in accordance with the parking fees listed above.
