    Dining reports...

We have a serious shortage of dining reports this year.

I could take a shot at writing my 2016 report in advance. I'd probably be about 80-90% accurate. Not sure what that says about me ...

That's because we're still the same group of people on here, and we most likely have our favorite spots that we continue to frequent and have already done dining reports on.
We've only made it to OC once this year for Cruisin OC and we had breakfast at the hotel, dinner at Captain's Table one night, and Embers the other night. Lunch was just grabbed on the boardwalk and I can't remember what it was.
There are plenty of places that we WANT to try, but we're just not there often enough.

I haven't posted dining reports for either trip yet. I'll try to this week.

Z's right. It's the same group of people around here, not that there's anything wrong with that. The forum has been slowly dying off in the last few years. Senior posters have either gotten mad and left or have lost interest and there's definitely a lack of fresh faces around here too. I wish the website would do something to promote the forum a little more.

Part of the problem is that they got rid of the Sand Dollar program. That attracted new voices, and encouraged regulars. It wouldn't hurt to bring it back and see if that helps.

    Historical Trip Reports

Just for fun I went back to my first trip report still in the forum from 2004. (I think there were earlier reports that may have gotten lost in an update at some time.) But looking at that report I found some amazing consistency year-to-year.

Places we still hit EVERY year:
    BJís
    Coins
    HarborSide (our first visit)
    Bayside Skillet
    Generals Kitchen
    Dumsers
Places we get back to pretty regularly:
    Harpoon Hannahs
    Polish Water Ice
    Fallen by the wayside:
    Green Turtle (West OC)
    Smokers BBQ
    Doughroller
    Seacrets
    Anthonyís Sub Shops
    Places Not there Anymore
Hobbitt (04 was last year in original location)
    Charlies (Fenwick)
    45th Street Village (shops)
    Chips Variety on 65th
    Resort Video Channel
It'd probably be interesting (to me at least) to look through the old reports and see the places that came and went through the years. Our first OC visit was 1998 and we only missed 3 years since then.
