Believe it or not, in all the years I've been going to OC, I don't think I've ever tried Pino's.
Definitely try Pino's. Besides, John Hoffman and his wife Tracey are great people.

Noelle, I am from your area. almost right across the river. Hence the screen name, PlainsPricey106.
We have not had many bad experiences in OC. There are just so many places to chose from and I won't go back to a place that didn't serve what I like.

Thanks, I guess it will be a toss up between Miones, and Pinos. Never had Pinos. There was a place around 10th Street I believe, white building with a gravel parking lot in front, on coastal hwy, facing the bay, I can never remember the name. That was good pizza. They brushed garlic butter on the crust. In past years we have had Fat Daddys. Not too bad.

    Kds,

I'm from Baltimore and I have to say Pizza John's is my favorite pizza! It's one of the things I miss most about living there. I always stop and get take-home pizzas whenever I can. It's probably why I like Dough Roller too. That's about as close as you can get to Pizza John's in OC.

    OCMike,

Yes, there's something special about Pizza John's. You're right, I could see Dough Roller as a decent comparison. I think Carusos too.

My personal pizza favorite is actually 3 Brothers in the Gold Coast Mall.

Getting off pizza.......we now limit our breakfast choices to places we KNOW are good (Anthony's 17th, Jimmy's Fenwick, Sahara) but in my less wiser days, the breakfast at English's was DEATH.

This place is fairly new, but I don't have a lot of good to say about the Decateur Diner on Route 611 in West OC.

The food is OK, nothing spectacular. But the diner was filthy. The place was only about two years old last time I went. The floors were covered with dirt and there were flies buzzing around everywhere. Seeing how dirty the dining area was really makes me wonder about the kitchen. Won't be going back.

We had breakfast at a little restaurant on either Baltimore or Philly around 2nd or 3rd St. We had to share a table with strangers and then they wouldn't let us split the check!! Food wasn't even good. It was so bad I forgot the name.

We ate at the Sahara cafe last year. Awesome food, service was a little slow but the we're packed. Waited about 45 minutes. It a trade up for good food.
