In 2012? good luck. Those cottages are usually rented a year in advance. There might be weeks open, but they are few and far between.

    Eric:

This is the only one I'm familiar with. I have had some correspondence with the owner because I was trying to rent it in the off season for my anniversary. It seems like a very nice place and they are pretty quick in responding to questions.

Good Luck and let us know what you find out please

You could also try the Inn on the Ocean. It's a bed and breakfast, but it's a lovely cottage and it's right on the boardwalk on 10th St.

I wouldn't dismiss the idea of a condo though. There are some wonderful ones, that aren't in high rises both on and off the boards. Look at some of the realtor sites like Holiday or Coldwell Banker. Holiday has its tennants rate each unit, so you can get a very good idea how the unit really is.
