I have not stayed at any of the hotels but we are trying the Tidelands this July and I have heard good things about the hotel by people that have stayed there and reviews I have read.

I would really go with a balcony because you have a one year old. We have been taking our daughter to OC since she was 6 months old. And if you have a balcony you can but the baby to bed, get a nice cool drink, leave the door cracked and go out on the balcony for a little relaxing. If your mom babysits for you then you can actually go out. But what fun is that when your friends aren't there?

Have stayed in two out of the three

We have stayed in the Tidelands and the Paradise and both are nice places to stay. They both have large clean rooms and the balconies are nice. Both hotels do not have carpet in the rooms and instead have ceremic tiles. The Tidelands has easier beach access if I recall correctly.

    Plim Pee Pee

We stayed there a few years ago, after the remodel. When the people upstairs flushed their toilet, water came cascading down our bathroom wall. Look for another post in here about it - someone else said it happened to them too. I wonder if we had the same room or if they really have multiple rooms like that.

Compared to other places we've stayed in the same price zone, I rank Plim Plaza last.

Never stayed there but only heard negative things from others that have. A few refered to it as the Plim Flam if that tells you anything.

We stayed there last July. We stayed on the 3rd floor where the rooms had been remodeled. Room was clean and kept clean thruout the stay. Hotel was ok and staff was nice. My only problem is the rooms are way small. In the bathroom when I sat on the toilet my knees hit the tub, I am 5'10" so go figured. That and the fact I to wanted a balconey this year is why we aren't staying there again. We are staying over on 1st at the Haven Hotel. No pool but looks good and clean and I have only seen good reviews other than folks complaining they have to walk 2 blocks to the parking lot, which we had to do at Plim also.
    Hope this helps.

I have heard that the rooms are quite small. I have spent a lot of time at the Caribbean Pool Bar and love it. I haven't been to OC in a couple of years I hope the Pool Bar is the same as its always been.

The pool bar was good last year and I hope it is this year as I plan on having a few drinks there on my B-day

    Let's GO CAPS

After a few drinks, be sure to use the restroom. Listen carefully at the floor and you might hear people saying "EWWWWW... Henry come look at this!"

Once I initially commented I clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now every time a remark is added I get four emails with the identical comment. Is there any method you can take away me from that service? Thanks!
