found this on the net and i want to spread these tips..this is according to Kit Thayer and Kau Shuilz on how to arrange a room to give it a new look

* Consider each area in the home as a small stage, then design it accordingly.

* Arrange bookcases with an abundance of books and interesting collections such as a group of framed personal pictures, candles and objects of art. Illuminate the displays with a lamp and add a cloth napkin or place mat for color.

* Strive for a comfortable, "lived-in" look, but avoid a cluttered feeling. Have plenty of storage spaces for items that gets used daily. Clear out items that don't really get used and seem to be taking up space. A chest with drawers works well here.

# Don't line the walls of the living room with furniture. It's always more interesting to pull the piece into the room or to even place it at an angle. The area rug looks great angled, too.

# Use a decorative box or a basket to store the remote control and TV guide.

# Have at least one unique piece of furniture that will capture the attention of guests.

# Make sure each room has at least two to three different light sources and include general lighting, task lighting and mood lighting. Uplight plants and art for a different look, or just add some candles.

# Select a quiet corner and creating a reading area, but remember to set the stage with comfort in mind. Make sure to provide good lighting, a table for a book, a throw for warmth and a throw pillow for added comfort.
