Cruisin’ Ocean City 2013

When the smell of burnt rubber and Armor All permeate the Ocean City air it can only mean one thing: Cruisin’ Ocean City weekend is here!  Just days before tourists flood the streets for summer, Coastal Highway and Route 50 will be overflowing with more than 3000 Classic cars, Hot Rods, and tricked out trucks.  Regardless if you’re a car owner, car enthusiast, or just really love the soothing sound of dual exhaust, the Ocean City Convention Center and inlet parking lot are your hot beds for piston pumping activity from May 16-19, as over 350 awards are up for grabs.  If that isn’t enough to get your engines revving, various businesses in Ocean City, West Ocean City, and Berlin will host shows, vendors, and events celebrating custom cars.

Here is a quick look at some Cruisin’ Ocean City weekend events and attractions:

  • “Mountain Man”  from A&E’s Duck Dynasty will be on hand at the inlet on Friday May 17 (4-5pm) and Convention Center on Saturday May 18 (11am-4pm) to sign autographs, take pictures, and answer all your burning questions about what it’s like to actually know Si Robertson in person.
  • Kevin Byrd, host of the Speed Channel’s Two Guys Garage will also be appearing Saturday and Sunday to talk all things automotive with fans of the show and automobile aficionados.
  • The inlet will host the manufacture’s midway all weekend as the top automotive brands in the country will showcase new and favorite products.  Companies include: Billet Specialties, Bimbo’s Xtreme Polishes, Chevy Performance, Classic Underwriters, Cobra Performance, Delaware Tire Center, Demon Carburetors, Flaming River, Flowmaster Exhaust, Gold Key Resorts, Hagerty Insurance, Holley Performance, K&N Engineering, Lucas Oil, Meguiar’s, Miller Electric, Optima Batteries, The Right Stuff, Royal Purple, Slide-Lok, Speedway Motors, Summit Racing, and Tremec.
  • The OC Collector Car Auction will be hosted by Express Auctioneers on Thursday May 16 and Friday May 17 at the Convention Center beginning at noon each day.
  • Parades on the boardwalk will kick off the Cruisin’ festivities on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, beginning at 8am daily.
