Local beers have taken over the taps at many Ocean City bars, lots of local chefs are integrating craft beer into their customer’s dining experiences, and establishments like the Seacrets, Dunes Manor, Greene Turtle, Coconuts, and Buxy’s even offer privately labeled beers brewed by local breweries. Love to drink local? Ocean City’s craft beer and brewery scene will not disappoint.

Be sure to check out Ocean City’s first brewery, and co-star of the upcoming beer documentary, ‘Blood, Sweat, and Beer,’ the Backshore Brewing Co. Located at 10th St and the Boardwalk, Backshore offers some of the best craft beer in Ocean City, and, with a front seat to the Atlantic Ocean, one of the best views of any brewery anywhere.

Also stop by the Ocean City Brewing Co. on 55th St. Ocean City Brewing Co. joined the local brewery family last summer and hasn’t looked back. Offering 2 dozen taps of its own creative brews, as well as select offering from other breweries, a full-service restaurant, swag shop, and full production brewery, Ocean City Brewing is an essential stop for any beer lover.

Heading out of town on Route 50, you’ll find the Fin City Brewing Co. located in the rafters of Hooters Crab House. Stop by to taste Ocean City’s original microbrew, or grab a six pack at your favorite beer store.

Some of the area’s best local brew can also be found on your way to Ocean City along Route 50. The Burley Oak Brewing Co. in Berlin has been rated world-class by Beer Advocate and is known for creative beers that push the envelope.

Just up the road in Salisbury is the Evolution Craft Brewing Co., which has emerged as one of the premier breweries in the region over the past few years. Stop by eVo to enjoy a flight in the tasting room, or dinner in the spectacular Public House Restaurant, an upscale brewpub that highlights local beer and local food.

The 3rd Wave Brewing Co. is located just minutes off of Route 50 in Delmar, Del. and is the area’s only all-female owned brewery. The brainchild of two surfing buddies who met while working at the Dough Roller in OC years ago, 3rd Wave is known for serving up ‘good waves, good friends, and great beer.’ Drop by the tasting room on your way to or from Ocean City and fill a growler or two of 3rd Wave’s amazing brews.
