WINE FESTIVAL
Winefest is always a blast. You should definitely go.
There is always 8 to 10 different wineries represented. They usually pour decent sized samples, and no one pays attention to those ridiculous sample tickets they give you are the front gate.
Don't forget to check out the website and print out copies of the coupon for everyone in your group. In the past, it drops the cost by $3 pp.
Bring a blanket or even some light beach chairs to set on the sand as the many picnic tables that are provided get taken up quickly. After sampling, you can decide to buy a whole bottle of your favorite which you can take home or ask to have uncorked and then enjoy the bottle right then while listening to the band on the beach and take in the antics of some of the drunken revellers.
There is also always some food stands set up as well as few arts and crafts places. If you don't like wine or someone in your group doesn't like it, there is usually beer available, but I don't see the point of paying $20 at the gate, and then pay more for beer.
Usually the weather is really nice too. Seems like the winefest gets lucky more often than not, and the weekend weather brings sunny and warm conditions.
Great, thanks for the info sounds like exactly what my group would like. we have been to Linganore's Wine Festival, and the CC one. both are a blast...but we have to always be worried about driving...but not in OC<,we could grab a bus...or go bar hopping on the boards!! Hope the others in my group want to go.:)
Glad to hear all the great reviews. This will be our first Wine fest.
My sister and I usually go to Sun fest for our annual sisters long weekend but since we both love our wine decided to skip Sun fest and make it Wine fest this year.
Can't wait for Thurs. 9/27 to get here so we can head down :)
Has anyone been to the Beach Wine Festival? We are taking a weekend getaway to OC that weekend, and thought about going to it., I saw the website, gives a few details,
:)
