It doesn't look good. Seems like the storm will de dumping plenty of rain by Friday/Saturday.
WEATHER THIS WEEKEND
I was scheduled for the same days. I cancelled this morning. But I am watching Ernesto and if he turns away from the east coast I will make a reservation for saturday thru Tuesday. Right now, it doesnt look good, and I have kids who want to go to Splash Mountain water park and jolly rogers amusement park, both of which I doubt will be open. so I dont feel like I want to pay nearly $600 to sit in a hotel room.
oh i know this is horrible. who else bailed out? i m going with a friend and his two kids and two other freinds and thier two kids.so,this could be a nightmare.we had talks on the phone today about canceling.some would ,i wavered back and forth. been looking so forward to this weekend i just dont have the heart to cancel.but to spend the dough and sit in a motel for a weekend with all these kids is sending me to the bathroom to puke every five minutes.
any hope of this thing turning? ive been glued to the weather channel but they tend to sensationalize everything. so i jsut dont know.
a little rain i can deal with but not this torrential downpour for the whole time,i went thru this crap a few years ago when it rained the whole weekend then too.
Why bail out? you're still away from home for a bit.
just a thought.

My grandfather used to always say, "never change your plans because of the weather." It's a good philosophy and we've had some really fun trips in the rain or not so great weather. You might make some great memories too.
Go and get out and do what you can. Sure you can't lay out on the beach and get a tan, but that is really about the only thing you can't do. Dress for it (wear a raincoat) and make the most of it. It's not like it's March and it will be COLD and rainy.
Last summer while I was at OC my girlfriend's youngest son and I went to Splash Mountain on a grey rainy day and had an absolute blast! There were NO LINES for any of the waterslides and besides, you are going to be getting wet anyway!
Chris
i'm also going down this weekend. yes, it's nice to just get away from home. but i don't know if i want to take the chance. i was on accuweather.com and their calling for property damage! ouch. And thunderstorms-if there are, do they even let you near the water? how do you enjoy walking on the boardwalk. i'm not sure what i'm doing. but its a tough call.
GO! Don't cancel. This is the NOAA prediction of the track and it looks really good for OC. You might get a shower on Sat., but the ocean is odd. You never can tell where you'll get rain. Kids love being at the beach even in rain. What's the difference? You're going to get wet anyway, right? Have fun.
