The Maryland Coast Dispatch has a really good article about Violets are Blue, the 1986 movie starring Sissy Spacek and Kevin Kline that was filmed entirely in, and around, Ocean City, MD. Lots of interesting anecdotes.

Thank you for posting this. I remember seeing this movie years ago but the name of it had slipped my mind. The one scene I remember was they were sitting on the beach at Assateague with the OC boardwalk in the background.

Are there any other films you can think of that feature Ocean City or the nearby area? I might try and see if I can get hold of the film mentioned :)

Violets are Blue is only major motion picture, that I know, to filmed in Ocean City. Runaway Bride (1999) and Tuck Everlasting (2002) (which also featured Sissy Spacek) shot quite a few scenes in Berlin, just outside of Ocean City. The Atlantic Hotel Inn & Restaurant can be seen in both of those movies.
