from what ive heard its pretty junky... im staying there for a night on the 31st so I'll let you know how it was.
SEABONAY ON 28TH ST.???
Ive stayed at this hotel through stays i won on beachbidder.com which got me a great deal. the hotel is ok and clean, but not a new modern facitlity. the company that owns it has about 10 hotels in OC of all levels from the seabonay to the best place in town the Holiday Inn on 17th street. their site is ocmdhotels.com
im stayin there june 4th - 13th ive visited oc twice this year for say trips to see what the place looks like... ok outside junky! but the pool area very nice rooms there rooms are cool too i think this trip will be very nice i dunno what your going down for but one of my friends is a grad this year and they were only runnin $1,000 a week ocean front and i mean while we are there we will mostly not use the room that often... if you wanna know other good places some like thunder bird motel on 32nd st ocean black and spinnaker on 18th street ocean block nice places and not to expensive but i will post a little more after we stay at seabonay to let everyone know how it really was cya!
Wow! my gf and i just got back from oc we were there june 5-13 and do i have some news for you lol well if anyone is planning on staying at the seabonay motel on 28th street DONT!! that place was so filthy and disgusting i couldent stand it first off we got there and went to see if we could check in early and we were turned away a couple hours later we came back and we still couldent check in even though our room was ready the other 2 people we went with werent there yet so i was told that i couldent check in even though the room was paid in full and i was the one who made the reservations finally after 3 we get into out room 317 top floor we walk in "what a dive" i said very angry the room was damp and soggy from the air being on god only knows how long there was rust on all the light bases in the room the toilet seat was cracked ceiling tiles in the bathroom were cracked and warped the plug for the bath tub/shower didnt even keep water from draining the tv didnt work... so after i compalined about all of that i went back to the room and tried to enjoy the first day of my vacation then after all is said and done we are getting ready to goto bed then i look up at the ceiling and what do i see baby fly larva things comong out from the corner of the room i jumped out of bed and demanded a full refund or another room so we went with the other room we had to pack up all of our stuff and move it to the floor below and in the process i picked up the sheets of the other bed in out original room and what do i see 2 giant winged bugs under the covers!! and this is only the first day! so we rush out of that room into a bit of a nicer room 219 we demanded that the sheets on the bed be changed right away if we were going to sleep in there so the head grounds keeper actually went got all new bed clothes and changed our bed but the only other problem with that room so far was that it looked like they ran out of wall paper beacause it looks to be peeling off in 3 diffrent places and when you would push it up against the wall it didnt even look like they ever met or overlapped so finally day 2 nothing wrong in fact after the first day we didnt really run into any other problems until last night our last night we come in from our last walk on the beach i go in the bathroom and rinse my feet off with hot water and like 2 minutes later this STRONG sewage smell came over the room i was so angry yet again there were 2 arub men working the night shift and he said they couldent do anything till the morning he gave me a can of aerosal to spray thats it! i tried calling the worchester health dept. and the oc chamber of commerce none were open but finalyl after leaving the water off and letting the door hang open the smell kind of went away so i could get some sleep i told the manger the next morning i will tell everyone i know not to ever stay here its nothing but a pile of trash and should be torn down just like they are tearing down the santa maria but im going to write a letter to the chamber and the health department and i want to see that place shut down the guy that helped us move the one night even told us this place is old and the 3rd floor is the worst and when it rans and water settles on the roof bugs lay eggs and somehow they get into the building through the roof and water leaks though... i told my gf why is he telling us this made me more digusted but im done venting about the horrible place so if you know anyone thats staying there tell them to find somewhere else the only thing that place had going for it was the ocean front view but even that wasnt enough to fix what that place had already did to our vacation
on the other hand, i stayed for a night on the 31st and found it to be your typical older but still pleasant OC Motel. The room was small but well taken care of. Everything was very clean and I had no problems with my room such as what they complained about. I'm going again on the 28th so we'll see if I have any disgusting problems then, haha.
Exactly- This is why tearing down old motels to put up new ones/condominiums is not always a bad thing. Some of these old motels are WAY past there prime.
Places like Miami Court- definitely time to go...
Burgandy Inn- As bad, if not worse then the Seabonay... Stayed there about 10 years ago when every other place was sold out for a weekend- They always advertise for "HS Seniors" since that's the only crowd that would pay to stay in that place.
I'm sure there are one or 2 decent rooms in these places- but I'd rather see something new and clean take its place.
I have been sending for brochures from different hotels oceanfront close to the boardwalk and received one today from Seabonay on 28th oceanfront. Has anyone ever stayed here or even seen it while at Ocean City??? If you have, please let me know your experience with it. The brochure pictures aren't that great (just small views). We aren't planning on spending a whole lot of time in the hotel; however I don't want to spend my vacation in a dump. Thanks.
