Those who posted against simple event promoting threads are the people who DON'T DO ANYTHING. I welcome these threads because unlike those who oppose these types of threads, I actually go out and spend my money at OC doing things. The locals can thank me when I'm down there for supporting their struggling economy. Carry on.

Have you followed Britt4duke, nlfissle, captpat,or myself around when we are in town? How about Baltobob? Bob's a year round resident... for all you know he might do more by accident then you do on purpose in OC. & have you read any of MY trip reports??? I've never stayed in a single night for as long as I been vacationing in Ocean City (and that's been my whole life btw)
It's interesting that YOU can tell so much about people and their vacation habits, based solely on their opposition to turning a discussion forum into free for all for the advertising market.
I can't speak for the above mentioned others but I'm really taken aback by your keen insight into all of our lives, based on the fact that we want to uphold the rules on which this forum has always stood by. Who would thought this one issue would have made us all such an open book to you....

Looks like I hit a sore spot with DeanM. I didn't mean to offend her or Britt. Women can be so sensitive. Sorry folks. But I guess that having this new section solves the problem. Just don't read the posts here. Those of us who choose to take advantage of the info here and spend our money down at OC so Bob and other locals don't lose all the businesses there will continue to frequent this section. Again, sorry to offend.

WOW!!! What did I start??!! Again, to all, I AM A GUY!!
I just wanted to point out one thing, which was to warn what happened to the Maryland Coastal Dispatch. Again, it started out with one bar advertising a promotion and within a month or two, the site was inundated with SPAM ads.
This force major post was not SPAM. I'm just warning of the door it might open. Just be ready admin. And I think opening a separate forum for it can be the perfect solution.
As for the attacks. Let's just stop. My early comments were meant to be a joke that accompanied my observation of forcemajor. Apparently it his a nerve. Forcemajor, I hope you do stick around. But you still didn't tell me how your show was!! How did it go? I love Castaways!

Britt, everyone KNOWS you're a guy. You've stated that in other posts way before any of this. The references made to you (and me now)being a woman, are just lame attempts at insults. Seems like "I" am the one who hit a nerve around here when I pointed out to someone that they are drawing conclusions about peoples lives that they truly have no knowledge of... and of course the only response they could come up with was to call me a woman. wow... real mature!(I do wonder however what do real women think about all the sexist slurs in this thread???)

So that's it - I'm done with this thread, it's old and tired... btw I really hope admin is taking special precautions with this new forum to block out spyware. One of the business's I own is a computer repair center and we see them come in here everyday jammed with spyware/adaware, and 99% of it comes from "free"internet advertisements. Wouldn't be kind of ironic after word of this free invitation to vendors gets out and after 30/40 ads from Paul Reveres inviting people to come check out their new carving station... if peoples computers get sick too!?!?
