Is there any way to contact condo owners to complain about the realtor that is handling their condo rental?

Owners should know about how PO'ed customers can get when a rental company like Moore, Warfield, Glick require a security deposit on a condo rental and then don't return it for nearly 2 months after the rental...and how when you complain, you get a responses like, "Rental Agent Smith (fake name) is on vacation and will answer when she returns" and "I thought I mailed this last month, don't know where it got to..." A true story.

If you would like to contact a rental owner just drop a note in the mail to the condo address. I rent but do it on my own and your deposit is mailed no later than one week after you depart. I rent on my own because of how the Rental Agents handle the cliental.

Hey Cranegoat, Moore, Warfield and Glick also advertises certain condos as being "oceanfront", when they are, in fact, ocean block with absolutely NO ocean view. We paid oceanfront rates to stay at the Diamondhead on 80th St. a few years ago, what a rip-off, I would never rent from those con artists again and I hope more condo owners go with another realty company to rent out their units. It took us 6 weeks to get our security deposit back and that was after I called 3 times.

Hey Olive...Guess I'm worried now. We are renting a condo through Moore Warfield and Glick. Any tips to handling getting my security deposit back quickly. I thought of getting them to sign my yellow copy where it says agent signature but I guess it wouldn't help much. As I said, any suggestions from you or from anyone????

Hey Jl, I don't know , read your rental agreement and see if it says anything about no refunds or partial refunds. I am renting through Holiday Real Estate this year and their policy is 5% penalty for cancellation....most others are comparable, either way, I doubt you will get a full refund. I will not rent through MWG again due to the fact that they out and out lied to me about the unit I rented from them. I have never rented through Holiday, this is a first, but I have gone through Shorline and Condo Realty and have never had problems. Good luck with your deposit.

May i suggest a realtor. I have been going to ocean city since i have been in the womb. We have went through everyone...and then some. This year I am living there for the summer. Ocean City Weekly Rentals (www.ocwr.com) has been EXCELLENT. Any questions at all, they have been able to answer on the spot and if they coudln't, i'd get a call later that day or definitly the next day. So comforting. I would suggest them. The person to talk to is also Heather. Anyone else ever go through them?

Oh boy! Is my family in for any surprises? I am renting from MWG at the end of July 2004 at the Tiburon on 140th street. We've stayed at the Tiburon b4 thru another real estate. Can anyone tell me anything good about MWG? Thanks

Condo owners are required by the city to post a rental permit somewhere in the unit. The permit shows the unit owner and their address.

See some of my other posts in threads about how to circumvent Rental Agencies- They will not allow any direct communication between the owners and renters b/c they are (paranoid) of losing their commissions the next time around if you talk straight to the owners- As I've expressed- I don't use them anymore as an owner, and I prefer the direct communication with the renters.

Usually you can get a lot of good pictures online with Owner rental sites as well.

Good idea about looking for the rental license- but if they are already out of the unit, that wouldn't be an option any longer.

There are ususally a couple of locked closets in the condo and I've found that if I write a letter to the owner, put it in an envelope and slip it under the door of the locked closet, that the owners are very responsive and agreeable. Try it. The leasing agent doesn't have to know a thing about it.
