i am going to make this quick because i don't like to type...so here we go.

saturday --- crab cake factory for dinner. got the crabcake and ribs. excellent --- they really do have good food here. however, i was disappointed that they changed their main dining room in that they took all the tv's out of there. also, the guy with the glasses (the manager) seemed pretty clueless on how to changed the TV's to the right station. took him about 20 minutes to finally get the orioles game on. but all in all , the food was excellent and a great time was had by all.

sunday --- played golf at lighthouse and then brought back subs from anthonys on 33rd. shrimp salad and the flagship. by far the best cold cuts in OC. shrimp in the salad are huuuge

monday --- bull on the beach for happy hour. steamed shrimp and steamed clams. very good and easy to peel

tuesday --- reservations for dinner for 6 at grove market. what can i say ;;; this is my wife and my favorite restaurant in existence. we drank 4 bottles of wine between the 6 of us and had 6 apps + 6 entrees. total bill about ~450. so not cheap. unbelievable crab pate, crab dip, steamed clams. scallop entree, sole w/ crabmeat in a spicy sauce, definitely the best meal we've had in a couple years.

thursday --- sunset island. meh. the service wasn't good and the food was very average. the lettuce wrap app. was very good, but the crab dip okay, my wife got tomato soup which was burned. swordfish steak okay and lump crab imperial small and average. all in all , pretty disappointed actually; in contradiction with most of the recent reports here.

friday --- bull on the beach west ocean city . again just steamed shrimp and clams, crab soup. all well above average.

saturday --- got tubbys before we left. cheesesteak. SOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed. this place has gone waaaayyy downhill. terrible cheesesteak. dirty outside and worn down. DO NOT GO HERE. this coming from someone who used the swear by Tubbys. SHOULD HAVE GONE TO TOMMYS FOR THE CHEESESTEAK.

lastly, we ate fat daddys late night a couple times --- average at best , taco sub way too greasy. cheeseburger sub in chunks not patties. cheesesteak not bad and the fries were fine.

oh yeah, i had thrashers and an atlantic stand double cheeseburger. delicious at usual.

can't wait to make it back next year. first time we stayed by the boardwalk and i liked it alot.

fido.

fido,

I tried to talk our group into going to grove market, but the only cash thing didn't fly with my dad. I will probably go next time just with my wife. After reading about all the subs people have had I wish I would have got one somewhere. I really enjoy a good cheesesteak or italian.

Agree with Fido, if you want a great Italian sub...Flagship at Anthony's on 33rd.

My favorite calorie splurge is the subs from Anthony's on about 18th street. The cheesesteak with hot peppers, onion rings etc are great.

Another vote for the Flagship at Anthony's.

I wish I had ventured in there a long time ago.

As a kid, we stayed for a week at the old Sea Nymph on 16th before they were sold as private condos. I could walk to the mini-golf on the corner (Sunburst, I think) and literally walked to Anthony's every day for food or ice cream. Used to see Anthony himself in there. Also used to walk to the Sunburst shop that is now a subway to see the talking parrot, Popeye. The place that is now the Paddock nite club was Poor Richard's liquors and some other things before that. Granny's Pizza across coastal highway. We'd try at least once to sneak into the indoor pool and jacuzzi at the Holiday Inn. Anthony's and Holiday Inn are the only ones left.
