I'm so sorry for your loss. I think it's wonderful that you are going to spread his ashes somewhere he loved. I hope you find peace and contentment in your soul once it's done.

Cool sentiment, spreading your dad's ashes at the beach. It sounds like something he would really appreciate. Good luck!!! I don't know if you have any kids or not, but it sounds like a great time to keep your father/son trip going and start your own tradition with your family.

Good news, Theshaah.
The new Cork Bar has retained the look and feel of the original, and they still sell the ice cold frosty mug draft beers. The layout is pretty much the same, except they know have two pool tables on the right instead of one in the back. They even have most of the same stuff on the walls and the dollar bills on the ceiling.
So after missing out on our annual father son trip last year due to my fathers death I'm planning on taking a trip this summer to our favorite place. I'm going to be spreading my fathers ashes in OC where he always loved to go to escape the real world in gaithersburg and DC. We've lived in florida for 19 years now and always took our annual father son trip between june and september.
It's been almost two years since I've been to OC. I know there are quite a few different things in town now. The roses is the only thing left of the ocean plaza mall, the dutch bar is closed now :( and my favorite bar the cork bar has been remodeled and reopened.
I would always get my thrashers fries and head straight for the cork bar for cold beers. They had the coldest drafts in town and they had vinnegar for your fries too. It's hard to believe i'm 31 years old now...I remember going to OC and riding all the rides like it was yesterday. now I barely fit on some of those rides lol.
Anyway I haven't posted in a while but would like to say hi to all the folks out there and especially thank the regular posters for bringing back so many happy memories for me the other day as i read the board. Especially the gentleman who posted all the information about trimpers bill tracy haunted house and pirates cove. i'm impressed by imnotimmpressed LOL.
