I stayed at the Monte Carlo last month during Springfest weekend. The hotel is decent. The rooms are a nice size and very clean. The rooftop pool and sundeck provide a great view of downtown OC. However, I did not like the parking spaces. They were so tight, it was like threading a needle to get your car in and out. The lobby was very small and there was only one elevator. However, overall these were minimal details and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Just got back from our OC vacation. Had a great time and the weather was very good. Now for my review of the hotel. I agree with the fact that there are very few parking spaces at the hotel itself, the rest have to park in overflow lots across Baltimore Ave, one lot is about a block down. I was fortunate to be able to park by the front door and didnt move my car the entire time, didn't want to lose that spot. The desk clerk Chris was very nice and helpful with everything. The lobby is extremely small and the ONE elevator extremely slow. When we got to our room 402 it was nice clean and smelled good. The balcony a decent size, enough for 3 or 4 people with chairs. There was plenty of drawer space and plenty of hangers, which is good as I had 3 teens with me. Beds were comfy but the pull out couch was in hideous condition. Stained fabric ripped and so uncomfortable we didnt use it. The microwave fridge and toaster all worked great for us. All in all it was a nice stay, but for a hotel that is only 3 years old it really should be in better condition. The hotel site says it has a restaurant, not really, it is a Subway that opened up our last day there. Dough Roller is right there on the boards though. We didnt eat there, thought their prices were to high. Did eat at Brass Balls, which is always good, 4 dinners for 40.00. Got fried chicken at the Atlantic Stand which was very very good. Their prices are very reasonable. Anything else just ask.

we just got back from the monte carlo last night. the parking is interesting but not the worse i have seen. we stayed in room 504 which also has the sleeper sofa. our sofa was in pretty good shape though. the staff was very friendly. the rooftop pool was definitely our favorite spot. the other day when it was so hot every where else, we layed out up there and the breeze and the view were quite nice. however the hotel monte carlo has been opened since summer of 2000 so this would make it the 6th summer it has been opened. i would say it is one of the nicer downtown hotels we have stayed at. better experiance than we had at either the tidelands or the park place. the light in the rooftop jacuzzi at night was pretty awesome it really looked great up there at night. the subway that just opened though was nice but the staff at the subway was very new and inexperianced. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. were actually going back for sunfest. catch ya later. :)

k we just returned from the hotel monte carlo we were very disapointed with the parking we ended up with renting a car so if you have a big vehicle do not stay there the pool was nice only 3 1/2 feet deep kinda clean. elavator was way slow the maids were great. front desk was quick to complain if you had stuff hanging from the balquani but they were quick if you needed something too. personaly I will not stay there again cause it was not big enough for us but all in all it was ok
Any opinions from anyone who has stayed here recently? Myself and 3 kids will be staying here June 22-25th. I will be sure to submit my opinions on return.
