Do you absolutely have to be on the Ocean? One of my favorite upscale hotels is the Coconut Malorie, but it's bayfront. Beautiful sunsets, quiet, and in nature rather than crowds. I've stayed at the Pricess Royale, but that was the first year they opened and I wasn't impressed then. Check out one of the OC websites like ococean.com. There are a lot of hotels listed there or order a book from OC that lists all the ammenities. Congratulations. I hope she says yes. Nice touch with the photographer.

:) Good luck with the proposal! ive been with my bf for close to 3 yrs - wish hed get off his high horse and propose - the beach would be a great spot to get engaged - soo romantic .. and the Fenwick Inn is a great place to stay .. i dont know too much about the Royale be/c ive never stayed there and frankly its too expensive but i guess if you want a romantic getaway that might be a good place but i think theres tons of other places just not that far up away frm the hustle and bustle .. anyways good luck! :)

For a beautiful, romantic getaway, you can't beat the Lighthouse Club. It is small (intimate), beautifully appointed and on the bay - can't beat the sunsets. If you call them, let the General Manager, Angela Reynolds know that you are planning to propose.....she can assist you in making it a very memorable special event.
