Hello to all. I am new around here and found this site by looking up reviews of Ocean City restaurants. I have been coming here for years and have recently relocated here temporarily for work. I have been on a search for the best place to have AYCE crabs. I have searched through like 30 pages worth of recccomendations and have found it to be very informative. I have some questions for you guys. Thanks in advance and thanks again for all the info.
Is Captains GalleyII an AYCE rest.?
Where do you reccomend I go for AYCE crabs? I have always gone to Hoopers but came across a ton of horrible reviews, so I'm looking for a new spot. So far I have come across so many mixed reviews between The Bonfire, Embers, Phillips, Clarion Horizon,Watermans, Halls and so on. I am used to Hoopers because we always got the feast and it had everything imaginable. Is there another place like this? If so any of these listed above?
I am living in Fenwick so if there are any up this way or into Beth., or Rehob.thats cool to.
I have also listed some others I came across and thought maybe it would be usefull if I grouped em together all in one post for someone like myself looking for a good list of a mix of any and all foods.
Italian-Restorante Antipasta(I cant wait to try this one)
Seafood-(I've not tried any of these)
Captains GalleyII
Watermans
Clarion Horizon
Halls
Phillips
warrens station
Fenwick Crabhouse
Bofire
Embers
Nantucket
Subs-Anthony's (Awesome)Remember Cash Only!
Pizza- I've not tried any of these.
Pinos
Dough Roller
Lombardi's (Very very good)
Caruso's
Breakfast spots
Bayside skillet (had it,loved it)
Crabcake Factory (I've never had this)
All around good places-
Smitty Mcgees
Cottage Cafe (Wonderful place)
BJ's on the water(One of my favorites)
Nick's ribs
Big Peckers
Macky's
Well thanks in advance to you all. I have not tried many of the above listed places and as I do I will update with reviews. Hopefully this will help in some way.

Also I meant to add. I have always had Ponzettis for pizza and it has been good. Recently I tried the wings and ceaser salad. Both were terrible. I paid $10.00 for the salad and you could tell they just threw some lettuce together with some thawed out chicken and the wings... beware they are really mini wings, I have never had such small wings with no meat on them. I have decided to not return there, there are way to many other good places to give my money to.

I'm not sure if Captains GalleyII has an AUCE but their crab cakes are wonderful. The Crab Bag,around 130th St used to have auce but they have torn down the little shack in the front and added a new building. They have another building in the back where you can sit inside or they have picnic tables outside. We have been getting carry out crabs from them for several years and have never been disappointed. For a breakfast place, Dirty Harry's in Fenwick is a very nice place and seems like a lot of locals, also Jimmy's in Fenwick is really good but a small place and again a lot of locals. As far as pizza we enjoy Lombardi's at 94th St. and for wings, Smitty McGees on Rt 54. Love em!
I'm looking forward to your take on a lot of places that you mentioned.Have a great summer.

We have enjoyed the "Assateague Crab House" just west of the Assateague State and National Park on Route 611. It's a nice family owned restaraunt. We've eaten there for my wife's birthday every year for at least the last 5 (maybe 6) years. Always been treated great. They offer Crabs, Shrimp, Chicken and Corn on the Cob. They also have a standard dinner menu. They are nothing like Phillips. We do have friends who go to Phillips every year and rave about them too. If your looking for a nice little sit down place the Assateague Crab House is perfect, plus when you're done eating, you can always venture down to the beach for a nice quiet walk.

I don't work for the crab house and get no kick-backs, we've just enjoyed the place everytime.

Man.....your post is HUGE....some of your aformentioned AYCE spots are not blue crab spots, but feature the formidable SNOW crab!!! Since you are a Fenwick denizen....D. Harry's and Jimmy's are excellent for breakfast. CC Factory is good...wide menu selections. I feel your agnst with Ponzz....great pies but iffy with other items. I'm hearing a buzzz on High Stakes on 54....please Mr. post counter....get me off Junior Member status.

I've had good luck getting All You Can Eat Crabs at Crab Alley in West Ocean City. We've always had all male, full crabs. Plus, they have very good fried chicken and ribs with their special.

As for pizza, I'd recommend Lombardi's if you're uptown and Caruso's if downtown.

The Crab Bag has great crabs. I heard Fresco's has great italian, for a good breakfast check out the Rio Grande Cafe next to Nicks or Coach's Corner Diner on 61st. Pizza? There are so many I like Ocean Side Sub shop in Fenwick for Pizza as well Pizza Mambo mid town.

I don't know if they have AYCE, but we had good meals at the Fenwick Crab House a few years back. You also mentioned Nantucket's...that is one of our favorite restaurants. It is upscale and fairly expensive, not really a "crab house," but very good food. The Quahog Chowder is amazing.

I would second recomendation for the Crab Bag on 130th. Big additions over the last 18 months but is greatly being improved.

How about Horizons in the Holiday Inn on 60something St.?
Or the Victorian Room at the Dunes Manor?
Of course the Bayside Skillet is always a good choice for breakfast and has nice atmosphere.
