I am lining up my restaurant choices for our August vacation. We go out for dinner every night. I have three favorites that we will definitely be going to: Sunset Grille, Fresco's, Captain Galley II. After those we tend to bounce around. I am considering:
Marina Deck
Cowboyz
Coins
Liquid Assets
Fagers Island
On the Bay
Melvin's

Any opinions on the above? I have to whittle down the list! Any new places worth trying? We are married (52) without kids. Staying on 69th St but will go anywhere if it is worth the ride. Open to any cuisine and price point.

Thanks in advance.
Tom

I like Liquid Assests and Galaxy66. Wish the budget would allow my wife and I to visit more often.

Don't forget about The Grove Market! If you truly want a unique dining experience then "the Grove" is a definite must. A few things about the Grove Market are that you WILL need reservations and they only take cash. Call them about two weeks in advance.

I also hear great things about "The Globe" restaurant in Berlin.

I've never been, but I know others who have and they had nothing but great things to say about the food and ambience.

My wife and I went to Castaways last year and we loved it. Great atmosphere on the bay deck, if you like Carribean type places.

What is your favorite Wrapper? I prefer chicken and cheese.

Genuine, gourmet, Italian Italian? Try Fausto. If you've been to Italy and are disappointed with American Italian restaurants, your palate will say "Grazie!"

We have to Fagers Island and I believe it is way overrated. Try the Coral reef inside the Holiday inn on 17th St buttell them you want the dining room. Good atmosphere and great food.

I'm another who thinks Fagers is overrated. Okay for drinks and snack (wings/shrimp) but I wouldn't go for a nice sit down dinner. I really want to get to Fausto's though....I don't think I have heard one bad thing about the place.

We too are getting ready for our annual trip in August. Ususally we always go to Harrison's for that special dinner - however, I am considering Fager's Island this year for a switch up. According to the above posts it sounds like that might not be a good choice....any other suggestions for a switch up? Thanks :D

I would suggest Captain's Galley II. Great crabcakes as well as other seafood. Nice salad bar, good service.
