In the summer of 2005 I stayed at the holiday inn on 17 street oceanfront. It was a very nice hotel except for one thing! At 11pm and 3am, the times when I am just about to go to bed and when i'm in bed the fire alarm goes off!!!11

I have a 6 year old sister who was petrified and I had to carry her down 7 filghts of stairs, not somthing i should have to do on vacation!

Did they fix the fire alarm glitch or this still happening?

(BTW there was no fire either time!!11!!)

I'm sorry, but I have to say that is a ridiculous post. I would call and ask, but come on, I would almost be certain that the fire alarm was taken care of the night or week that you left.

Yeah, I stayed right next door to that hotel for a week in the summer of 2005, and I can honestly say I never seen any twice a night fire drills happening, so I think it's a safe bet to say they must have fixed the problem.

My family and I stayed there the 2d week of July for the past 2 years and we never had any problems. Must have been an isolated incident.

It wasnt 2 times in one night it was 2 times in 2 nights. (as in one time each night). This actually did happen and I know the wiring was faulty because my uncle does install these systems for Nasdaq and other trade headquarters. He was quoted saying "the alarms in these highrise buildings almost never go off inadvertently never mind 2 times in one stay." This is no joke and I would like to know if they had fixed the problem.

Hello my name is Guido Sarducci and I stayed at the Boardwalk side Holiday Inn as well. There were two seperate fire alarm incidents going on. I was there from what appears to be the same week (if it was a isolated incident) if it happened all summer, then there is no telling what week, or if we even stayed together.

Except for these two incidents... I had a blast though. OC is the best. I spent a lot of my time dispatching my children to the chairs (the one's with the table of course! I'm Guido Sarducci mother ****er!) And me and my wife (who would act as the Hall Monitor) would hang out there.

In my spare time of hanging out. I showed kids how to money clips out of rubber bands (of course, I'm Guido Sarducci mother ****er!)

And flirted with the chicks behind the counter at the front desk. BUT DON'T TELL THE HALL MONITOR I SAID THAT!

Hi Shootupbuddie!
Don't feel bad, the same thing happened to my husband while he was on a business trip. The Hotel was a well known chain. Twice in one night, the alarms went off. Thank God there was no fire to be found, but both times everyone had to evacuate and stand out in the cold while the fire dept. inspected the building. Needless to say, he came home very tired the next day. Yes, even the most expensive alarm system can get buggy.
Take care....:)
