I haven't seen all that much posted about them here...any opinions would be helpful. They're close to where we're staying and I thought it might be a good place to go for a quick bite to eat.

:) Vacation day is just 5 days away....I can't wait!!! :)

They have killer locations in OC.
Pizza smells great, but taste lousy! I've eaten frozen shells w/sause that tasted better.
Everybody else on here goes crazy for the breakfast, but in my opinion when you have a pizza shop and you can't even make pizza, why would I bother to try anything else???

Dough Roller is an okay place to have a pizza or a sandwich. Their prices are in line with what you expect to pay in a resort town. I've been to both Dough Rollers on the boardwalk and also one on the main drag. The food is adequate and so far I haven't experienced problems with the service. The restrooms are not the cleanest. Enjoy your trip.

This is what I expected....mediocre.

Anything close to Park Place Hotel on the boardwalk that would suit us just a quick eat?

I already have my good restaurants picked out for dinners, but sometimes I just need something more than a slice of pizza for lunch.

My husband and I have been to the Dough Roller numerous times..of course, nothing compares to real Jersey pizza, but we find it good, have been there for a quick dinner and found it good for breakfast as well, but everyone has their opinion. We like the Brass Balls Saloon next to the Howard Johnson Oceanfront Plaza, great breakfast and lunches.

We are leaving for OC Aug 15th..can't wait!!!!!!!!!!:D

Judy:

My family eats there at least once a trip, sometimes more. It's average at best for Pizza but for the boardwalk, you get to sit down, the servers have always been friendly. We eat at the one just down from Edwards Gifts, not sure of the address. We always enjoy looking at the old lunch boxes on display. We usually get 2 large pepparoni pizza's with 6 soft drinks and come out under $50.00 w/ Tip (I think).

My only complaint with Dough Rollers has been there inconsistant refill policy. We've gone there 2 times in the same week, day 1 we get free refills, day 2 we have to pay. I would double check that first, it makes a difference what you drink.

Hope this helps.

Bypass Dough Roller, & walk down the boardwalk a few blocks and get yourself some really good pizza from Tony's.

I was just going to suggest the same thing. You can't be Tony's when on the boards. Love, love, love it. And avoid Paul Revere's and Jonah and the Whale at all costs. They're food is recycled after people throw it up.

I have been going to OC for over 20 years and the Dough Roller is my personal favorite place to eat in OC. If you want pasta or pizza its good. Try a western burger or pizza burger. I think they'er the best in town. I'm sure not everyone cares for them so this is just my opinion.

You are right Tony's pizza is good, and if pizza is what you want I would hit Tony's. But if everyone in tour group isn't looking for pizza than Dough Roller is a good place. I do like their pizza myself. But Tony's is a bit better.
