CowboyzSaloon.com

Looks like OC will finally have a country western bar.

Good deal. Country is hotter than ever now and more popular across all age groups. Hopefully, these folks know what they are doing and are not just opening up a place with a jukebox and pictures on the wall. What they need is the old mechanical bull....haha....would that be hilarious?

The fine folks at the Crabcake Factory own it. I'm sure John knows what he's doing.

Hope they treat the locals well.
It's more country down here in the winter then during the summer.

Went there on Sunday Night. You would never recognize the place.
Great BBQ and Ribs. They are only on a soft opening and plan to open July 1st full time.

I would definately recommend Cowboyz

Looks like another 30 and under crowd and not family friendly. Sort of like Coyote Ugly. They tried that in my town and it sank like a stone, but in OC it should do quite well.

I saw the sign up on the marquis in front of Gold Coast and wanted to check it out but didn't get around to it. That sign is kinda hard to make out. But if nothing else, the Brooks have proven they know how to run a joint, and John or whoever is constantly putting money back in to make upgrades, improvements. They've done a great job at Crabcake and before that at the Station. I just hope it's not a resort town over the top type place like Macky's, Castaways, among others, where the hype and decor are better than the quality of food and service.

I was down over the weekend and while traffic seemed busy on Saturday heading into town, definitely less than I would expect to begin Fireman's week and still senior weeks. No trouble getting up and down coastal hwy Saturday or Sunday at any point. We saw a lot of breakfast back-ups Sunday for father's day, but the Boardwalk was not crowded Sunday 12 til 2:00 or so.

Kind of looks that way by the full page add in this week Dispatch.
"Come Holler and Swoller with the Cowgirlz" doesn't seem to family friendly to me.:D

We were there last night. It was OK. Nothing to write home about. They might have just had a off night..I will give them another visit. The singer they had though SUCKED..he was either drunk or something..he kept messing up the words to the songs he was singing....seemed to be a Kenny Chesney wannabe..hope they get better bands..

I was in there this weekend. It's very family friendly. They also have a bunch of family style combos you order and share which we thought was great. Young ones have lots of room to run around and teenagers loved the mall downstairs.

I had a 22 Oz Prime Rib which was awesome and we got the dinner for five. We took alot of food home with us.

After 10 PM it's definately younger crowd with alot of hootin and hollering. Not sure what bars arent younger after 10 PM however.

HAPPY HOUR IS ALL DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK Open till 7 PM.
2-4-1 on all call drinks, wine and Bud Light.

I saw the full page ad which states "Affordable Family Dinning" in huge letters
and then has a section stating after 10 PM its a country western night club.
It also states "Kid Friendly", "Large Groups Welcome", and "Kid Friendly" Once again.
So not sure why it wouldnt seem family friendly to someone reading that ad. ???

At midnite (apparantly) they do a social drink called holler and swaller (originated in Nashville) and
the whole staff does a choreographed dance routine.

The singer I saw there was named "Jimmy Charles" and he was great with the kids and sing alongs.

I love Crabcake Factory so I am sure this one will keep improving. They only opened third week of June.

So as long as I don't bring the kids at midnight it should be okay?....:p
