I was headed down there yesterday to take some pix for our site - but the heavens opened up. So, I'll plan to be there next weekend.

Along with another couple, my wife & I took a day trip to OC this past Sunday (perhaps more on that in another thread to come). I think that the architecture of the Courtyard is really awesome, you can tell that they took the design & colors of the old Santa Maria and utilized them in a retro, yet contemporary design in the new building. When they tore down the Santa Maria, I missed passing by the white building with teal accents, it was very unique.
We decided to change our October reservations from the Quality Inn Boardwalk to the Courtyard. It is more expensive, but less than the Hilton at least. I was also excited in that we were able to reserve a room with a jacuzzi tub. We almost changed our reservations to the Hilton, as both my wife & I decided that we would rather pay more and be assured of a very clean & comfortable room, as we had always enjoyed our stays there in previous years. However, I would imagine that the Courtyard will be one of the better OC hotels next to the Hilton. Also the thought of having our renowned Captain's Table right on the premises really attracted me to book there.
Hopefully they will soon have interior pictures up on their website when they are available.
Their website indicates that they will be opening in August and by the looks of the building, it appears about right. The exterior is basically done, I did see curtains up in some rooms, others not. As long as they are open by October, I will be happy. Although it would be nice if they were to open a little earlier, as in mid-July, so that I could do a walk-through of the place while we are there for our summer pow-wow.
My wife & I stopped in last week. Like the previous poster said retro & modern. They let us go through a room. I was nice as one would expect but very small. I asked how many people they held and he said they don't put a limit on the rooms. He also said they do not have roll saways and people had their kids sleeping on the floor. Too expensive for us. He also said the top floor is privatly owned condos. I found that odd, considering it was a chain hotel.
Thanks for the update. There are still no pictures on their website (www.courtyardoceancity.com). I am anxious to see what it looks like inside since we are staying there in October. Hopefully they will have some up soon or someone will post some interior photographs on TripAdvisor.
Vitimin J, does your post mean it's STILL not open?? Talk about missing the boat on the opening date! I never heard of any hotel that didn't have rollaways.............and it would be a cold day in Hades before I EVER let one of my children sleep on the floor in a hotel. EWWW! I don't care if it's brand new.............EW!

I did a search and seen that this is to be opening in May. I found a pic or two of it but during the construction phase, has anyone been to OC to see the progress, any pics would be nice too. Of course I still miss the Santa Maria.
