The one thing that stood out to me on our weekend trip to OC, was the boardwalk...I heard many many things about it, (some bad, some good), and everyone has there personal opinions, but when I compare OC boardwalk to WildWood and Atlantic City Boards, they definitely pale in comparison...Thats not to say that WW or AC are bad, because they both have their own charm, but what is really killing both are the abundance of cheap, useless stores, and restaurants that now are not nearly as good as in the past. Most boardwalks have your typical t-shirt and beachwear shops, as well as gift shops, arcades, etc, but OC was not overwhelmed with it....Which is what I liked most about it.... As you got closer to the amusements, more and more stores surfaced, but not many...Another thing I want to mention is, like Myrtle Beach, in OC, there was always someplace to eat, and find live entertainment..If you wanted a family style dining atmosphere, or a more romantic couples atmosphere, OC has it...Whether you wanted, seafood or italian, you could find it..Also, like some resort towns, the sidewalks did not roll up after 6pm..Entertainment was everywhere...
To all the long-time residents of OC, keep up the good work, and keep that boardwalk as is :)
