I believe when I read the article in the OC Times or Dispatch it did say they had peanuts people could eat while waiting for their food.

might have said that, there were none when I went. Funny because I have only been to a couple others and both locations, including up the street in Bethany, has them.

Maybe it's something they are still waiting on?

I went the first night they were open, and they had peanuts.  They were in the boxes up against the front windows.  They didn't have them in a barrell however, which I have seen at other 5 Guys locations.

You must simply have not seen them, lbo.  They had way too many to have already run out, that's for sure.

huh, yeah I didn't see them at all. They weren't on the tables, no shells on the floor or buckets even and didn't notice anyone eating any.

Maybe I did miss them then.

Z06RL, I'll agree with you on the hot dogs! I do like the bacon cheddar dog.

Yes, everyone patronize Five Guys! My 16yo daughter is working there and loves it.  She is also happy that it'll be open year 'round - she worked seasonal last summer and this.  I haven't had a burger yet but i have eaten a dog and it reminded me of Annie's Foot-longs from Glen Burnie.

And yes, they have the "secret shopper" thing.  The staff is randomly evaluated and based on their score can earn bonuses.  I think it's a great way to keep the employees on their toes.  Management is everything.

Do you guys recognize those french fries? I patronize the 5 guys here in the Orlando florida area and I have to admit I am hooked. Not just because those burgers are juicy, tasty, and you can load em up with whatever you want. But because those fries are unofficial THRASHERS replacements. I can't get thrashers where I live...but if i go to 5 guys i have a reasonable facsimilie because the owner of 5 guys has copied their recipe. They soak fresh cut potatos in water, deep fry em, and give you salt and vinegar. They are a little more expensive than thrashers....but for a florida boy who loves his fries......it does in a pinch.

OK...my 2 cents on 5 G's......I've been to at least 5 locations.......call me a daredevil, but I really don't like a dried up burger. ( I know welldun is safer) But for 8 to 9 sandollars, I'd like to have some juice left. Good fries!

The burgers are very meaty and delicious. The fries servings are tremendous. At least they are near the one where I live. I like the idea of seeing how my food is prepared.

Actually I don't mind spending a bit more for a better product. If I want cheap skinny burgers I'll go to McD's!
