38th Annual Powerboat Show

Visit historic Annapolis this weekend for the 38th Annual United States Powerboat Show.  Known as the nation's oldest powerboat show, this year's event will feature the latest in boat designs from luxury motoryachts to high performance boats as well as the latest in marine technology.  Seminars and personal tours will be offered for additional information.  The fun begins Thursday, October 15 with the show opening at 10am until 6pm.  The show continues Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 7pm daily.  Bring the whole family to this year's event which draws over 5

Things To Do In Annapolis This Week

There is plenty to do in and around Annapolis this week.  Get started by going to the Anne Arundel County Fair which starts on the 16th.  Here you will find farm animals, tractor pulls, games, contests and more.  The fair is taking place from the 16th to the 20th.

 

Join Dr. Joan M. Gaither as she returns to the Banneker-Douglass Museum for a Story Quilting Workshop.    Visit Dr. Gaither on Saturday September 19th from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Banneker-Douglass Museum located on Franklin Street in Annapolis.

There is plenty to do in Annapolis this week so be sure to pencil in some of these great events. 

 

The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre is preforming Copacabana this Thursday thru Sunday.    Travel back in time with this songwriter as this hit is brought to life!  Performances will be held at 8:30pm nightly September 3 - 5 at the Summer Garden Theatre located on Compromise Street in Annapolis.

 

Quilters - The Musical This Weekend

This weekend in Annapolis, enjoy Quilters- The Musical, as presented by the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre.  Quilters is a combination of music and dance along with dramatic scenes depicting the celebration of American Womanhood as told through the eyes of a pioneer woman and her six daughters.

 

Visit the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre on July 17, 18, 19, 23 or 24th to see Quilters starting at 8:30pm each night. 

 

Art Anyone?

If you are feeling a little "artsy" this weekend you are just in luck!  The Annapolis Arts Alliance members will be displaying their artwork at the Artists' Framer Gallery on Bay Ridge Avenue in Eastport.  Artwork will be on display on Saturday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. 

 

Get Out And About In Annapolis

It is time to get out and about this weekend in Annapolis. There is plenty to do, so let's get moving!

On Saturday June 20th, visit the Holy Temple Church Flea Market which will take place from 8am to 1pm at the church on Bestgate Road. Later, if you feel like dancing, the Annapolis Traditional Dance Society will be holding a contra and square dance. There is a free introductory session at 6:30 and the dance is from 7pm to 10pm at the Annapolis Friends Meeting House on DuBois Road. Admission is only $10.

Lighthouse Tour and Green Market This Weekend

Visit Annapolis this weekend and visit the historic Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. Located in the Chesapeake Bay just five nautical miles from Annapolis, see this lighthouse in its original location. The tour boat will leave the Annapolis Maritime Museum docks at 8am on Sunday the 14th, so be there or be left behind! The cost for this hour tour inside the lighthouse is just $70 per person.

First Sunday Arts Festival - Free Family Fun!

Enjoy free family fun this weekend in Annapolis! At the First Sunday Arts Festival, you will enjoy live music, street performances, artists, crafts vendors and even sidewalk dining. Scheduled entertainment from Afro Bop Alliance, Unified Jazz Ensamble the Annapolis These events will take place from West Street from Church Circle to Calvert Street. Go out and enjoy the First Sunday Arts Festival, it is sure to be a good time!

Annapolis Greek Festival This Weekend

If you are looking for something to do this weekend...look no further. The Annapolis Greek Festival will be taking place starting on Friday, May 31st. Visit the Festival all weekend for Greek food, live entertainment, imported jewelry and food and even a special kids area. The Festival will take place from 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday and 11am to 7pm on Sunday and the admission is FREE!
