Ocean City

With so many dining opportunities in Ocean City, Maryland, it’s tricky to catch the best deals so you don’t go over budget.  After traveling throughout Ocean City, I’ve pulled together a list of cost friendly menus that will help you keep both your wallet and your belly full.

      Just outside of downtown Ocean City, the Sunset Grille is located off of Route 50 in West Ocean City, shortly after crossing the bridge.  This bar and restaurant sits dockside on the Chesapeake Bay with plenty of outdoor seating and dining deals throughout the weekdays.  The Sunset Grille offers a five dollar lunch menu Monday through Thursday from 11am until 3pm, as well as Early Bird ten dollar dinner menu from 3:30pm until 5pm.  Discount menu items change daily so there’s plenty to choose from throughout the week.

      Another restaurant located in the West Ocean City area is The Shark on the Harbor in West Ocean City.  The Shark also offers a five dollar lunch menu from 11:30am until 4pm everyday of the week!  Known for their delicious seafood dishes and beautiful, commercial fishing harbor view, dining at The Shark for lunch during your beach vacation is well worth the visit.

      Staying right in Ocean City and not up to traveling across the bridge?  Phillips Seafood House on 21^st Street and Philadelphia Avenue has great specials from 4pm until closing.  Phillips’ Early Bird Special offers meals such as Lemon Pepper Mahi Mahi, Salmon Florentine, Blackened Seafood, Crab Cakes, and more with two side dishes and bread rolls to start.  These meals vary from just ten to twelve dollars, leaving plenty of room for a dessert splurge!

      If the Early Bird Special is, as the name says, just too early and cutting into your beach time; Phillips Seafood House also offers a twenty dollar meal special throughout the night.  When you order one of these entrees, you are presented with the option of soup or salad to start, in addition to the bread rolls brought to every table, your choice of two side dishes, as well as dessert.  Any of these dishes are the perfect meal for any hungry seafood lover.  And if you’re interested in experiencing a traditional OC restaurant, check out the Phillips Seafood House located on 14^th Street of the Ocean City boardwalk.  This is the original Phillips that established in 1956 as Phillips Crab House, and has since opened various branches along the east coast.

      Another great restaurant in Ocean City is Kirby’s Pub on 94^th Street, which also offers dining deals nearly day of the week.  Not only does this Grille and Raw Bar have Happy Hour deals Monday through Friday from 4 until 7pm, but the Pub also has daily food specials.  Weekly at Kirby’s; Monday night is Burger Night, Tuesdays are for Wings, Wednesdays night is Taco Night, and Thursdays are the reserved for Import/Special Food.  A favorite spot of many locals, you can’t go wrong when you pay a visit to Kirby’s Pub.

      Pizza Tugos is a delicious pizza and sub restaurant located on 116^th St. and 18^th St. in Ocean City, MD, as well as in Ocean Pines in West Ocean City.  Pizza Tugos has various specials throughout the week, and eat-in diners at the 116^th St. location get to enjoy plenty of outdoor, bay front seating.  One of the most popular of Pizza Tugos deals is all you can eat cheese pizza for $6.99 every day of the week.  Tuesday Night at Tugos is dollar cheese pizza by the slice and Wednesdays are ‘Wing Wednesday’ with wings for only 50 cents each, with a ten wing minimum, from 10pm until 2am.

      If these deals don’t cut your budget, visit the Ocean City Convention Center on 41^st Street for free coupon books provided to all visitors.  These catalogues are packed with great deals from a variety of restaurants, and most deals are offered through the season and, some, even yearly!
