Christy Theodore retires after 31 years of service

Christy Theodore, more fondly known as “Christy Jo,” has retired after 31 years with the Town of Ocean City.  Theodore joined the Town’s public works department full-time in 1984, working as the administrative office associate in the solid waste division.  Along with her work in public works, Theodore spent nearly three years working with the Ocean City Fire Department from 1994 until 1997.

Theodore’s formal responsibilities include clerical and administrative support to the department. In addition, Theodore used her organizational skills to assist with data entry and was able to assist the department with ever changing technology, schedules and services offered by the division.

“Summing up 31 years of work history is difficult,” Theodore said.  “I worked with good health and I am thankful to have made the friendships and gain the support of my co-workers.  It will be hard to forget any of them, as they have been a part of my life for so many years.”

With her official retirement date, January 1, 2016, nearing, Theodore is looking forward to more time spent with her family.  “I am excited to spend more time with my son, James,” Theodore stated.  “Maybe I will travel or go back to school to get my degree in social services or mental health.”
