(May 17, 2013) Six musical acts are scheduled to perform throughout the day next Wednesday, May 22, during Macky’s Bayside’s inaugural “Life is Good” Music Festival.
“We’re trying something new this year,” said event organizer James Pavlik, a manager at the 54th Street bayside restaurant. “We wanted to get some new bands at Macky’s and have a little party before summer.”
Doors will open at 11 a.m.
Berlin’s Bryan Russo and The Tragic Figures will take the stage at 1 p.m., followed by Hot Sauce Sandwich at 2:15 p.m., Galaxy Collective at 3:30 p.m., Dale and The Z Dubs at 4:45…

(April 26, 2013) When Ira Mensh visits a fast food restaurant, he typically orders one thing.
“As long as I’ve been eating out at fast food places, the only thing I really eat is cheesesteaks,” he said.
Mensh owned a gourmet hot dog shop in the 94th Street mall from 1988-1991. He opened Jackson Chicken, featuring wood-burning rotisserie chicken, in 1995 in West Ocean City. When a unit recently became available on 118th Street, he decided to go into the food business again.

This past week Oceancity.com released its “Best of” Readers Poll. The winners were decided by voters from the Oceancity.com web site and Facebook pages. (April 5, 2013) Chris Wall and Lloyd Whitehead will celebrate 20 years as owners/operators of West Ocean City’s Harborside Bar and Grill on Sunday with an all-day, all-night party.
Food and drink specials will be offered and prizes will be given away. There will also be a pig and bull roast.

(Feb. 15, 2013) The dining public had until Feb. 5, to nominate a favorite restaurant, bar, tavern, chef, wine, beverage, craft brew program and food truck for the Restaurant Association of Maryland’s annual awards.
The votes have been tabulated and on Tuesday, the association revealed that six Ocean City businesses are finalists in several categories.
