(May 24, 2013) Memorial Day activities are scheduled to take place over the next few days in Ocean City, Ocean Pines and Berlin. Among them are patriotic ceremonies, a parade and an arts and crafts show.

Ocean City:

—The 13th annual Spring Arts and Crafts show at the Ocean City convention center on 40th Street will have approximately 55 vendors selling gifts and handmade items.

Among the merchandise for sale at the free show will be jewelry, candles, wall hangings, soaps, clothing, handbags, country woodcrafts, wrought iron items, hand-painted glassware, ceramics and paintings.

(May 24, 2013) Formerly known as the Council of Colts Corrals, the Council of Baltimore Ravens Roosts has gathered in the resort area since 1968. The group even continued the festivities when Baltimore didn’t have a football team.

This year will mark the organization’s 49th celebration in Ocean City and it will include a convention, parade and a variety of other activities.

Macky’s presents first ‘Life is Good’ Music Festival on May 22

(May 17, 2013) Six musical acts are scheduled to perform throughout the day next Wednesday, May 22, during Macky’s Bayside’s inaugural “Life is Good” Music Festival.

“We’re trying something new this year,” said event organizer James Pavlik, a manager at the 54th Street bayside restaurant. “We wanted to get some new bands at Macky’s and have a little party before summer.”

(May 17, 2013) Ocean City residents and visitors can expect to see several thousand custom and classic automobiles, hot rods, muscle cars, street machines and trick trucks around town this weekend during the 23rd annual Cruisin’ Ocean City event.

Unseasonably cool temps blamed for drop in Springfest visitors

(May 10, 2013) Organizers attribute windy conditions and cool temperatures to a decline in turnout for the 2013 Springfest celebration, last weekend at the inlet parking lot.

“The temperature was seasonably colder and we had high winds all four days,” said Tom Shuster, director of the Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department.

The temperature was in the low 50s during the day and much colder once the sun went down.

The four-day festival, which traditionally kicks off the start of the resort’s summer season, drew 97,021 visitors to the inlet parking lot to hear live music, shop for arts…

Crafters, artists, food vendors to fill three tents, midway section

(May 3, 2013) Artists, crafters and food vendors from across the country have traveled to Ocean City to present their products during the 23rd annual Springfest celebration, this weekend at the inlet parking lot.

More than 180 art and craft vendors have filled the two big top tents, to offer wares such as handcrafted jewelry, candles and scents, soaps, pottery, carvings, home and garden items, fine art, photography, paintings, clothing and apparel, pet products, woodwork and metal ware, among other items.
