(April 5, 2013) The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved a proposal this week that will see the aging Ocean Voyager motel on 33rd Street razed and redeveloped following this summer season into a La Quinta Inns & Suites franchise.
The Ocean Voyager, as it now stands, is a two-story motel-style structure that occupies the block bordered by 33rd and 32nd streets to the north and south, and Baltimore and Philadelphia avenues on the east and west. The motel also contains the Pirate’s Den restaurant and pool bar on its first floor.

(March 22, 2013) Bonita Beach Hotel on 81st Street and Coastal Highway is the newest property in Ocean City to be managed by the Carousel Group.
The Carousel Group includes the Carousel Oceanfront Hotel & Condominiums on 118th Street, the Coastal Palms Inn & Suites on 120th Street and the Atlantic Oceanfront on 45th Street. All four are Hospitality Partners (a Bethesda-based privately owned hotel management company) properties that operate under the umbrella of the Carousel Group.
The company took over management of the Bonita Beach property in mid-February.

(March 1, 2013) The Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association’s Spring Trade Expo has flourished since its inception 39 years ago, when products and services were featured in 26 booths. This year’s event, set for Sunday and Monday, March 3-4, will be the largest yet, with approximately 300 exhibiting companies filling about 415 booths at the Ocean City convention center.
