Where do you turn the dial?

Recently I asked some OC natives and vacationers what their favorite radio stations are in Ocean City. Yeah, I am still a live music snob, but there is something wonderful about driving down to the beach blasting the radio with the windows rolled down. Personally, I’m a fan of Irie Radio, the local college and alternative rock station on FM 98.1, and the modern rock station 93.5 The Beach. I guess that’s predictable — I like classic rock well enough, but I’m always looking for new sounds. Those of you who’ve been reading for a while have probably figured that out. :)

Obviously, though, not everyone in OC is on the same page. One regular vacationer claims to “just find whoever’s playing oldies” every time, while another prefers BIG classic rock because “they play Alice Cooper’s late-night show.” The Beach got a few votes, although some prefered it back in its days as “The Wave.” And one guy told me about the all-yodeling station, but I think he was pulling my leg.

What about you, dear reader? What do you listen to when you’re in town? And don’t be a smart-aleck and tell me about your satellite radio system or in-car iPod dock or CD changer. We’re kickin’ it old-school, here.
